Facebook goes down; users call police to bring back the service

As we all know Facebook was down yesterday for unknown reason, but how the users took it is a totally different story. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received numerous calls from Facebook users asking them to help regain contact with Facebook.  The non-stop calls forced LASD to post tweets in order to explain that police has nothing to do with Facebook outage. Sgt. Brink of LASD said in a tweet that:

“Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don’t call us about it being down, we don’t know when FB will be back up!” 

Facebook went down early Friday morning. The company responded to the outage, issuing a statement saying,

“Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We’ll update shortly.”
