U.S.A has been one of the prime centers of cyber crimes in recent times and we this time around came to know one of horrifying facts regarding cyber crimes in U.S. Nearly, all the banks since September has been compromised by the cyber criminals. This includes all the leading banks of U.S: Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bancorp, PNC, Capital One, BB&T, HSBC and Fifth Third Bank.
But, the most interesting fact about all the hacking is that there was nothing stolen from the bank, they were all DDoS (distributed denial of service attacks) attacks. The U.S. officials, according to their investigations, believe that all these attacks were laid down by the government of Iran.
A computer security expert and official of former Commerce and States department has said on this matter:
There is no doubt within the U.S. Government that Iran is behind these attacks.
The official is so sure about the culprits due to the fact that all the attacks laid down were a perfect indication of the some signature style of Iranian style of hacking. We would here like to add that all these attacks were having identical way of generation. We would here like to tell you how hackers when into banking systems, they entered into the data centers and entered into the ‘cloud’ created by Google and Amazon and thus entered into baking system.
Even though, while doing online transaction banks encrypted information from consumers, in order to avoid hacking. But, hackers while entering into the online bank made such a large number of encryption that the system failed allowed the hackers to enter into the system. A hacking group Izz ad-Din al-Qassam has although, taken responsibility of carrying out the hacks and also provided a reason behind it. The reason is the anti-Islam video posted on YouTube months back.
