I am breaking this news for you that operating system Ubuntu has got its forum hacked as a result of a breach in which the hacker has got access  to every user’s local username, password, and email address just few moments ago.

Ubuntu forum has been taken down by the admins and a message is displaying, revealing that there has been a massive attack on their forums in which usernames and passwords of every user has been compromise. The message on the site is given below along with a screenshot.

  • Unfortunately the attackers have gotten every user’s local username, password, and email address from the Ubuntu Forums database.
  • The passwords are not stored in plain text. However, if you were using the same password as your Ubuntu Forums one on another service (such as email), you are strongly encouraged to change the password on the other service ASAP.
  • Ubuntu One, Launchpad and other Ubuntu/Canonical services are NOT affected by the breach.

All users have been requested to change their password ASAP.

This is not the first time when Ubuntu has been hacked, just few days ago some unknown hackers hacked into the site and got hold of user details.

Stay with us for more information on the breach in case of any update!
