The official website of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (http://www.pmo.gov.sg/) was hacked and defaced by Anonymous Singapore after receiving a warning directly from PM’s officer two days ago.

The story starts from a Youtube video released by the Anonymous Singapore on November 5th, urging the citizen of Singapore to protest against the government and bashing the PM for his policies.

In reply, two days ago, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong warned online hacktivist group that no matter how far it will go, hackers who target Singapore cyber space will be arrested and bring to justice.

In a statement from Singapore PM:

  • The Singapore government will “spare no effort” to track down and bring to justice those who threatened to attack the country’s infrastructure. We will track you down — even if you think you’re anonymous.’

In return the Anonymous Singapore hacked PM’s official website, left with a deface page along with a message.

  • Anonymous SG was here Biatch! Its great to be a Singaporean Today.

At the time of writing, the Singapore Prime Minister website was down and showing offline message. A screenshot of offline message is given below for readers.

It seems that government websites are the most vulnerable targets for hackers or it can also be assumed that Anonymous really knows what they do and putting any kind of warning for their arrest is actually an attempt to being harm to yourself.
