Muslim Match dating website suffers massive data breach — Hackers leak everything along with users’ private messages!

A famous dating website “Muslim Match” has been hacked and as a result, personal data of more than 150,000 registered users has been leaked online. That’s not all, the hackers also leaked data including private messages between the users.

The data was discovered by Troy Hunt of “Have I Been Pwned?” who is offering users the opportunity to check if they have been impacted by the breach while another security researcher going by the handle of TheCthulhu has posted the data on his website available for anyone to download it.

According to MotherBoard, the leaked data is legit and every single leaked email is connected to a profile on Muslim Match website while one file contains 790,000 private messages discussing marriage proposals, religious issues and other marriage related stuff.

Here is a screenshot we took from the leaked folder:

The leaked data also contains information such as users’ IP addresses, usernames, MD5 passwords, Skype handles of users mostly from Pakistan, United Kingdom and the United States.

”I am ****** ,28,5”8””.and said to be smart\r\npls visit my profile,,and reply me asap,” according to one PM

Muslim Match has acknowledged the breach and users visiting the site can see the following message:

”We have been made aware of an alleged security breach and are reviewing our systems as we work to remedy the situation and tighten our security.”

It is unclear how the site was hacked but based on the site’s poor security, the cause of breach can be a simple SQL injection. However, when it comes to dating site hack it seems security is not their first priority as Beautiful peopleAdult Friend FinderTopface, and US military dating website faced massive data breaches putting the privacy of millions of users in danger.
