Lulu Hypermarket has experienced a major data breach, exposing over 200,000 customer records. The attack, claimed by IntelBroker hackers, includes personal details such as email addresses and phone numbers. The full database, allegedly containing millions of user and order details, may be leaked in the future.
Lulu Hypermarket, a prominent chain of hypermarkets and retail companies headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has fallen victim to a massive data breach.
The notorious IntelBroker hackers have claimed responsibility for the attack on Breach Forums, leaking the personal details of over 200,000 customers as an initial release, the Hackread.com research team can confirm.
The Lulu Group International, owned by Indian businessman and billionaire Yusuff Ali M.A, operates an extensive network of hypermarkets, supermarkets, and shopping malls across the Middle East, Asia, and other regions.
Hackers Claim Access to Full Database
The hackers claim to have accessed the full database of Lulu Hypermarket, which allegedly includes the personal data of millions of customers along with order details. They plan to leak the entire dataset at a later time.
To establish the authenticity of their claims, IntelBroker hackers have leaked the details of 196,000 customers, including email addresses and phone numbers. In a post on Breach Forums, the hackers stated:
“Hello BreachForums Community! Today, I have uploaded the LuluMarket database for you to download. Thanks for reading and enjoy! In July 2024, Lulu Hypermarket suffered a data breach that exposed the information of up to 196,000 individuals. Note – I have the full database, including the millions of users and orders that I’m currently importing as a .bacpac file so I can release it at a later date.”

Who are IntelBroker Hackers
IntelBroker’s origins and affiliations remain unknown, according to the United States government. However, their track record is a cause for concern, with previous breaches targeting various entities, including the T-Mobile data breaches.

Nevertheless, this data breach poses a major threat to Lulu Hypermarket customers, as hackers could potentially demand ransom, sell the data to the highest bidder, or leak the entire dataset for free.
