xHamster trolls North Carolina by banning itself against anti-LBGT law

The world’s largest pornography website Xhamster has blocked its access in the state of North Carolina against the recently signed anti-LGBT law

You must have heard about Springsteen boycotts but xHamster, the world’s 91st largest pornography site, has introduced a completely different way to protest against governments and to prove their stances.

The move comes in response to the House Bill 2 by North Carolinian legislature authorities, which was passed as a law on 23rd March 2016. The new law will prevent the state’s counties and cities from passing rules to protect LGBT rights.

As per the statement from the spokesperson of xHamster, Mike Kulich, the site was striving to ensure that everyone’s rights are secured. The company, according to Kulich, has spent the past 50 years fighting for “for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster does not tolerate.”

Severely hurt, xHamster started refusing to serve users from North Carolina from that day. Resultantly, users in North Carolina could only get a black screen on their computers when they tried to access xHamster.

Kulich further acknowledged earlier that:

“Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them, according to HuffPost

And now, we have received reports that a new strategy has been implemented by xHamster involving the creation of a special pop-up message. The porn site is now serving users from North Carolina but with a very informative pop-up in order to register resentment against the discriminatory new law that forces the transgender community to use public restrooms according to the gender that was identified at the time of their birth.

The idea is definitely funny and innovative. It is also a reminder that the seemingly homophobic states usually have people with different world views. However, xHamster must become a bit more specific. The website’s intentions may be good per se as it wants the HB2 to be repealed but the company’s unconditional support for Donald Trump makes one wonder what the company is really vouching for. On its search page of “big cock,” there can be seen a “Make America Great Again” ad that redirects users to Trump’s website.

It must be noted that Trump stated that if he gets elected he would consider appointing judges who would overturn the gay marriage ruling of the US Supreme Court. This is definitely a contradiction to xHamster’s pro-equality campaign.
